Granted, there are certainly events where that is the case, but that's where careful selection of the events you go to comes in. Actually, that was one of my first real networking lessons - I do no good at those meetings where everyone's there to get something from you. Where I shine is in the meetings where you get to sit down and actually consume food with people and get to know them. So much of my business comes to me that way it's crazy. So true.
