Deltina - We HAVE come a long way, haven't we? And I'm absolutely hanging in there. Can't wait until we're both sipping our drinks, working from our laptops in...Hawaii? Florida? Cancun? You name it, I'm there!

Lori - Thank you SO much for the encouragement (and for stopping by!) It's so good to know that not only am I not alone, but that I've got so much support. I'm really looking forward to sharing my successes and "near successes"!

Jess - Thanks! I have a feeling that there are a lot of people who will relate. A lot more than I originally thought, which not only adds fuel to my fire, but makes me realize I made the right decision here.

Thanks to all of you! And please keep reading! (If you haven't already, you can get updates via email, the RSS feed, and/or sign up for the BoDo newsletter.)

Cheers!

Tamar, what a great series - it's so helpful to read about others' experiences. There's a lot I can relate to!

Tamar,

Superb article and thank you for sharing the link!

To all the naysayers and their "real job" commentary, I say poo-poo to them! You're supporting your family, you're putting your time and talents to very good use, you're doing something you love, and you're paying taxes and contributing to the economy. What's NOT real about all of that? Exactly.

Two key points in your article:

1. "So now I’ve made the decision not only to rebuild my business and reclaim some of my former success, but to document it as well – for all to see. Please don’t let my calm demeanor and charming banter fool you – I’m TERRIFIED!"

Response: Good for you! You're putting yourself on the line for all to see. Being terrified of something can be a very positive motivator, if worked correctly. There are so many folks who are in a position similar to yours, and as you and those folks share your thoughts and feelings, all will come to realize that we're all in the same boat. Ensure you've got both oars in the water and you'll be just fine.

2. " ... I’ve committed to being accountable – not only to myself, but to the BoDo team, and anyone reading this."

Response: Holding yourself accountable IS big time, baby, and I raise a glass of ice cold orange to you! You will stumble and fail here and there and that's all right -- it's all part of the game. Anyone who says they DON'T stumble is full of it. On the flip side, you'll have far more successes than stumbles and it's the former which will keep you motivated and on the right track.

Well, Tamar, I am happy to state that I am "out of the bedroom" and into the spare room - which is an office for me, since I have no "spares." Remember when I was "in the trailer?" We have come a long way - hang in there!

Karen, I think you're right! And actually, I get a little reprieve tonight, as I'm going out for drinks this evening. Drinks and adult conversation...what a novel idea! Thanks for reading, and I hope you stay tuned!
