Rolling around with clients and more
We are now at the end of the fourth week of BoDo. After struggling to get the site going (there’s still more struggles, but, hey), I finally feel that I’m getting into a stride with posting.
In Sunday Stressbusters we played around with Careerbuilder.com’s Age-o-matic.
On Monday we welcomed those new to BoDo and showed them around. If you’re also new, welcome!
Monday also brought an introduction to the 10 Top Marketing Missteps Series. On Tuesday, Neil came out with Misstep Number One, Not doing anything. Thursday came along with Misstep Number Two, Not having a plan.
Monday was a day for introductions as the Designers Working With Series also made an entrance. Wednesday brought in the subject of clients, followed by A Client’s Guide to Professional Conduct in the Design Industry. And what designer can talk about clients without getting into problem areas?
Our new author, Josh Jeffryes (hosting Cube 2.0), came in with Running Your Own Design Business. Expect great reads from Josh. He’s been there. Done that. And lives happily to tell his tales.
Soon after, humorous Tom Dyer of Dyer Straits joined the client conversation with Clients, the Crisis.
Ask jay shared four steps to a client contact policy. Last weeks (seven ways to get organised) was so good, someone ripped it off (silly, as it’s easy to find copied posts these days).
On Resourceful Friday I kept with the theme of the week, only focusing on getting clients.
Also on Friday, Brian Sooy generously sent in a Client Management article.
This weeks Podcast Humpday was actually supposed to go last week, but was bumped due to Neil’s interview at 49Sparks. Although it’s not centred on clients, Media Artist Secrets certainly throws out a well-meated bone. I listened twice to write the review, and still have a time believing Quitting Your Day Job was only 12 minutes. In the past I’ve lasted through more and received less.
